Registry errors, clutter, and fragmented drives can turn a fast computer into a painfully slow one. Does your slow computer need a PC tune-up?

Top 4 Reasons for PC Slowdowns

Top 4 Reasons for PC SlowdownsRemember when your PC was fresh out of the box and super-fast? Those were the days, when boot times were less than the time it takes to hard-boil an egg.All computers slow down with use. The more you install and uninstall software, add and delete files, change personal preferences and tweak system configurations, the more you leave a trail of file remnants, fragmented drives, registry conflicts, and errors that impair PC performance.Even a new PC may show premature signs of "age" -- that is, longer processing times, system crashes, and programs that lock up inexplicably. The frustrated PC owner may give up on an "old" computer with perfectly good hardware to purchase a brand new unit -- only to repeat the cycle.Spyware, insufficient memory, and worn-out hardware are usually blamed for waning performance. But while spyware's a factor in many PC slowdowns, it's rarely the only factor. And while your system may have loads of RAM, it still won't suffice if your system manages memory badly. As for the age of your hardware, there's no physical reason why it should run any slower than the day you bought it.So what's the really behind all those PC slowdowns?According to a recent analysis of over half a million computers, the top four PC speed killers are:1. Registry Errors, Clutter, and FragmentationYour Windows registry contains key information for everything on your system, including user profiles, software settings, hardware configurations, and so on.As you engage in your normal computing activities, the registry gradually fills with clutter and begins to generate errors. Why? Because long after you've uninstalled a download, references to that download remain in the registry, leaving Windows to deal with invalid paths.During start up, Windows tries to load all the missing drivers, files, and applications still listed in the registry, making the boot process something like the hunt for specific phone numbers in a poorly organized address book.Compounding the problem, your registry gets fragmented just like your hard drive. Since the registry has to be loaded into memory every time you start your computer, the bigger and more fragmented it is, the longer you'll wait for your PC to go through its paces.2. Hogging the Starter's PositionMany programs load themselves partially whenever you start your PC. This makes them seem more responsive when you launch them, but with so many programs starting at once and tapping system resources, boot times and overall performance suffer. You may want to preload a couple of favorite programs for quick access, but not all those seldom-used utilities queuing up on your taskbar.

3. Bad Internet Settings

90% of PCs owners haven't optimized their internet settings. If you're among this group, you're losing bandwidth, and maybe even allowing malware to pirate portions of your bandwidth to run on your PC. Unless you optimize the way your computer communicates with the network, downloads will probably take longer than they should, and web pages may be slow to load -- even over a fast connection.4. Hard Drive ErrorsOver 26% of all computers have hard drive errors. These degrade performance and may prevent you from saving or retrieving files. Worse, hard drive errors may be a sign of imminent mechanical failure that could cost you all your data.Putting the Kibosh on the PC Speed KillersMost of the above PC problems can be fixed quickly, easily, and inexpensively with PC Tune-up software that will repair your registry, remove junk files, eliminate malware, defrag your hard drive, boost your internet settings, and prevent non-essential programs from running in the background.Any PC Tune-up program worth its price tag should offer two levels of control: 1) Advanced options for technical users who want to be able to tweak their settings and get the most out of their performance tools; and 2) Preset, automated system maintenance for the average user who simply wants to keep a computer running fast and problem-free without having to deal with configurations, diagnostics, or even ordinary PC cleanup functionality.

Solitaire Klondike: Learn How to Play

Solitaire Klondike: Learn How to Play

Since computers entered each and every household, classroom and office, solitaire became the most popular game. It is simple to learn, easy to play, and addictive because of its simplicity. But that was ages ago, and people have begun to grow tired of that same old game. As a result, they turned to new variations and Klondike is the most popular of them. Ironically, its not a new game. The term Klondike as a game surfaces somewhere in the latter part of the nineteen hundred, and historians suggest that it evolved from miners in the Alaskan and Californian mountains to pass the time. How Can You Play Klondike? This is not a difficult game to learn, but what's good is that though you will get the hang of it quickly, its difficult to beat in an addictive way. Its not frustrating, but fun and invigorating. One of the things you must learn is how to lay the cards out.1) Start by placing one card on the table in front of you. Place it facing up. 2) Place another six cards to its left, but keep these facing down.3) Place a card facing up to the card left of the first card you placed down.4) Add another card facing down to all the remaining cards a bit below them so as to form a column. Likewise, continue by placing one open card and then by adding a closed card to the rest. If you follow the instructions properly, you should have it so that last column will have seven cards. Check also that you have twenty-four cards in your hand because these are the cards you will play with. Now What? What you have to try and do is place all the cards on the four different aces. These will appear whenever they do, and you have to try and create the four suited sequence from the ace to the king. The moment you see and ace, place it on the side and start adding the next card. (eg: After an ace, place a two and then a three.) Note that each suit must be according to colour and type. By this I mean that the ace of diamond gets only diamonds, the ace of spades gets only spade cards and so on. Likewise, you can create card sequences down on the base cards as well by placing the card lower than it of the opposite colour. For instance, under a six of clubs, you can place either a five of diamonds or a five of hearts, but the five of clubs or the five of spades is out of the question.Opening the Cards Facing DownWhen you can use the cards facing up, then you can open the card that appears under it. And like in regular Solitaire, when you manage to open a base card and have only six or less bases, you can open a new base by placing a King there.Moving SequencesYou can also move card sequences from one base to another and this doesn't depend on the length of the sequence. All that matters is that the rules of sequence are kept. To use the cards in your hand, take the top three cards and turn them over. But remember that you can use only the top card. Only if and when you use that card, you can use the next one under it. Continue revealing batches of three. Once done, pick up all the cards and start again.

Why Open an Online Casino Now?

Why Open an Online Casino Now?

The USA has banned online gambling. Or has it? Reading the Post Authority Law, I have found that what they have banned is financial transactions between US financial organizations and online casinos. Why? They cannot ban online casinos because these are not under their jurisdiction. So, have online casinos complied? Some. The large ones have such as Party Gaming and 888, but an American player can still play. So what does that tell us?That gambling is at an all time high in the US and across the world. People like to play games for cash because they love the adrenalin rush they get when they bet money on the outcome of a game. A law, that refuses to acknowledge this is doomed to fail just like a law disallowing people from crossing the road when the signal light is red. What About the Online Casinos? Some, like Golden Casino, use a different name as their financial entity and ,thus, effectively bypass the US law. It pretty much works like this: the online casino does not allow US players but they leave it up to the players to stop playing. In other words, they do accept them, but are legally not liable for them.So Why Should You Open an Online Casino NOW?The US is bubbling with online players anxious to find somewhere or some casino that will accept their cash and allow them to play there. You can take advantage of this gap and this urge and place your casino in that location. Mind you, this is not unique and many online casinos are trying to think of ways to serve the US crowd, but it still is a budding industry because the big players like Playtech and BetonSports have left. Why not get in there and take up that gap?Lets discuss this in financial terms. People are looking for this product and are scouring the city to find it. Why not open an online casino and offer them what they want? The initial costs are high, but the return on your investment will more than justify spending such large sums on purchasing the software. Note that running an online casino is not that difficult once you have bought the relevant software. Then, you have to spend on marketing this product. Use the relevant internet sites, and voile, players will start dropping in at an alarming rate.Another reason to buy or open an online casino is that the law will take a while to take effect. This means that people can still play at casinos without any fear of prosecution. So why not take a plunge? How Can I Open An Online Casino?Contact one of the many software companies dealing with gaming such as MicroGaming, OddsOn and many others and ask. Some of these will even allow you to use their services such as customer and technical services while you just sit back and watch the money grow in your account. Is that something or not? Conclusion:Opening or buying an online casino now is still if not more profitable than before. But do not take my word for it alone. Look up google or yahoo and research this for yourself. You will be surprised at the number of new casinos coming up. Join this rush for cash too or be left behind.
